Once upon a sunny day
The sky so pink and warm
The golden sun shone brightly
Upon a flying form
A child so young and small and gay
Saw and thought it was a butterfly
And followed the pink fluttering wings
O'er a nearby hill so high!
The young boy clambered up the side
And came to a halt at the very top
The creature disappeared over the edge
So he cast his eyes over the fearful drop
And O! Such a sight that met his eye
Pink faeries dancing with candy strands
Fluffy pink houses, fluffy pink trees-
Everything pink, for he was staring upon Cotton Candy Land!
The tiny pink faeries twirled in the air
Chattering in their strange tongue
They pulled on his t-shirt with their tiny pink claws
And beckoned for him to come
He was pulled along by many white hands
The faeries led the way
And the things he saw were so amazing
He could think of naught to say
Why, the clouds were pale pink, pale blue!
And the fluffy road was squashed under his feet
Every building, every tiny little thing
Was made of a food so sugary and sweet
The faeries took him to the palace
A grander place he'd never been
He waited upon the gold barley-sugar stairs
Until he was taken to see the queen
O! Such a queen she was!
With a crown of white-blonde plaits
She was dressed in pale blue silk
And in a pale pink velvet cloak she was wrapped
Putting down her glass of bubbling champagne
She stared at the human before her standing
"Child," she said, a pleasant smile on her face
"Welcome to the Land of Cotton Candy!"
Standing up with a swish of her cloak
She descended the barley-sugar staircase
"In your honour - a party must be held!
O child, such music you will hear and such food you will taste!"
Indeed there was a party
With a long banquet table of magnificent food
A band of pink nymphs performed on the stage
And the faeries danced to the cheerful tunes
Tossing around their silver waves
The faerie women danced, sashayed and twirled
The dancing did go on so long
The sky turned black and dotted with pearls
The very next day the faeries waved the boy off
He was unsure it had not been a dream
The palace, the faeries, the food and the party-
And the beautiful Cotton Candy Queen!
Elegantly pointing their tiny toes
The faeries flew away
That's what happened in Cotton Candy Land
On that sunny, pink skied day

You write pretty good poetry for one so young, the abab form is common yet effective for such a storybook piece. Imagery and fairly good vocabulary... keep up the good writing young one
Thankyou. This isn't my best poetry, I do not use the abab form very often and I am not very good at rhyming, so that is probably why the vocabulary isn't so good.
